I have been a Registered Nurse for people with learning difficulties for 41 years. During that time I have supported people in hospitals, residential care homes and in their family homes. I specialised in using behavioural approaches for those who had challenging behaviours but I have worked with those with a wide range of learning difficulties and those who also have physical disabilities.
Over the years I have been a charge nurse within ward environments, a community nurse and I have been a manager at various levels within the NHS and the private sector.
